If you want to be away from people, but 20 minutes to a lake, then this is the place for you. The house is located within a gated resort/community that has horses you can walk up to and other amenities kids will love. Surrounded by beautiful trees. There are steps on the front porch, but also a path up a little hill if you don't want stairs. They have baby gates, kids toys, and a dog bed if you don't bring your own. We loved the wrap around porches. We'd definitely go back for the peace and quiet with our fur babies.

This was one of the best places on Airbnb. Great Dane had everything we ever needed except food. Highly recommend. Our teenager enjoyed the loft.

Our family had a great time. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Our grandchildren loved the loft. The custom furniture was beautiful. The view was amazing. Our grown kids went zip lining and horseback riding. Staff were very accommodating. Can't wait to go back!

It just keeps getting better. This is our 16th year at Leatherwood for MerleFest, and The Great Dane made our week special. Must be God and dogs. A sincere 5 stars.

Could not recommend MORE! Perfect for my family of 9 and three large dogs. Stocked with everything, even for our fur babies. Games, hot tub, firepit, ring toss, awesome views. Wish we could've stayed longer!

A fun place to stay. Our only complaint: the place had not been well cleaned before our stay, a thick coating of dust on all surfaces.

Even better in person! Great views, cute living room, plenty of space. Hot tub worked great. Wrap around porches were the best part.

Absolute perfect getaway. Owners thought of everything — toys for our 3 year old, a beautiful coffee bar, thoughtful dog amenities. Sat in the hot tub under an unpolluted sky. Can't wait to come back.

We absolutely loved this house!! Brought kids, grandkids, and our German Shepherd — everyone loved it.

Second stay — loved it so much in December we came back in summer. Kayaked at Kerr Lake, hiked behind the property. Evident the owners put a lot of love into making it better and better.

Enjoyed so much of it, but the TVs were confusing — remotes unfamiliar to our whole group, missed most of the Olympics. Would help to have clearer instructions and a couple more waste baskets in the bedrooms.

Love the Great Dane house. Beds are so comfortable. Love the separate areas to sleep a lot of family. Beautiful view.

Great place for privacy with beautiful views. Chose it for MerleFest — not the most convenient for that, but would choose it again for a relaxing family vacation.

Celebrated 3 birthdays here. House was cute and cozy. THE VIEW — AMAZING. Loft was well stocked for kids. Very accommodating of pets with dog bowls and treats — a wonderful touch.

Loved this property, look forward to coming back! Only thing missing was an actual grill and scrubbing supplies for pans.

Amazing!! Didn't want to leave. Breakfast in Boone, cooked on the grill, played games, hot tub for sore muscles. 5 stars all the way.

Stayed once and returned because the house is very good. Love where the jacuzzi is. Beautiful view!

Lovely views, nice big porches. Six of us stayed, including my 93 year old father who loved the master bedroom and tree-trunk furniture. My niece had a lovely wedding at the log cabin nearby.
